abstract = "The mapping and assessment of risk of erosion is important for
planning of natural resource management tool, allowing strategies
to be implemented more sustainable long-term management. This work
aimed to estimate the runoff in the Lower Basin Watershed of Rio
S{\~a}o Francisco (BHSRSF). For this, SWAT model (Soil and Water
Assessment Tool) simulations were used. First, a preliminary study
of the area to be studied, including its climate was conducted.
Then was used the method Curve number (CN) to carry out the
simulations SWAT. In the study, time series of meteorological data
from nine meteorological stations distributed in the study area
were used, this data were from the National Institute of
Meteorology (INMET) and Embrapa - Center for Agricultural Research
in the Semi-Arid Tropics (CPATSA). The results showed a possible
association of runoff with rainfall intensity, the type and land
use of the site. Thus, the SWAT model, from simulations, allowed a
satisfactory estimate of the runoff in BHSRSF.",
